Say "Yes" to Jesus: The Star of Christmas

I took a stroll to a nearby local departmental store on the evening of November 1, just to window shop. To my surprise, Christmas lights greeted me throughout the displays, a mere day after Halloween! All the bells and whistles of Christmas caught me off guard. It was hard to imagine Christmas displays so far from Christmas.

I Want to Forgive, But How?

An offense creates highly detrimental weather between us and our fellow humans or even God. Holding onto an offense is never profitable because it allows our souls to be poisoned by the slime of bitterness, resentments, anger, rage, and un-forgiveness that brings about a wounded spirit.

In 2014, the movie “God’s Not Dead” was released. The movie’s lead character was Josh Wheaton, an evangelical college student. He enrolled in a philosophy class taught by Professor Jeffrey Radisson, an atheist. Radisson demanded that students sign a declaration that “God is dead” in order to pass the course. Josh is the only student who refuses to sign.

Refuse to Be Offended

“Woe to the world because of offenses” (Matthew18:7). Looking back through history to the present day, our world feels chaotic, almost too dangerous for us. Peace and safety have become our most sought after commodities.

The Power of a Praying Woman

Prayer from a sincere heart through the name of Jesus has immense power, de- spite who does the praying: male, female, young, or old.  Yet there is something absolutely unique about the prayer of a woman. It is powerful, backed by heaven, and produces quality results each time.

If you have not been praying, begin by making a daily practice of it. It will change your life and the lives of others around you. Prayer is an act of obedience to God.

A few years ago I visited one of my spiritual daughters. As I sat talking with her in her bedroom, I happened to look up at her dresser mirror and noticed what seemed like a long list with bold writing.

Healing From Father Wounds

I knew a beautiful Christian young woman who I will call Janet. Janet loved the Lord with all of her heart, and aspired to live the Christian life to the best of her ability. Unfortunately, she constantly fell into sexual promiscuity. In an attempt to try to help her, I discovered that she had a history of an immoral life style prior to her redemption. Now that she was a Christian, she still struggled with that bondage.

Stop the Hurting

Pamela was married to the man of her dreams. After 10 years and 3 kids, she knew their romance would be a legacy. But something happened during year 11... maybe midlife crisis or a mental breakdown, but her husband became a totally different person. He stopped helping the kids with homework. He had been the chief cook and did most of the laundry, but no more. Pamela tried to get him to counseling as their relationship began to increasingly suffer. Then Pamela’s husband announced that he just didn’t want to be married anymore. He had found a man that he had begun a relationship with and wanted out.

He Rose to Commission You

Among the numerous holidays we love and celebrate, my favorite is Easter. As a young girl I looked forward to getting dressed in my new outfit on Resurrection Morning.  Mom made us look extra special with ribbons in our styled hair and shoes that matched our outfits. I was excited about being in church and witnessing the reenactment of the crucifixion. The drama brought tears to my eyes and a tender love in my heart for the Savior. Even though I was too young to understand all that took place on Holy Week, my heart seemed to come alive.

It's All About Love

Valentine’s Day is thought to be the epitome of “love,” expressing our affections through giving flowers, heart-shaped candies, fluffy teddy bears, etc. Love is a powerful emotion and an amazing gift to humanity. The ability to give and receive love is a gift from God and must not be downplayed.

We are not the only ones thinking about love and expressing it daily. The Architect of Love, God Almighty, loves us every minute of our day.
