Recapturing the Joy of Motherhood

Once the New York Timeswas asked to help a group of club women decide on the twelve greatest women in the United States. After due consideration, the editors replied, “The twelve greatest women in the United States are women who have never been heard of outside of their own homes.”

What Makes a Woman "Phenomenal"

What makes a lady to be considered “phenomenal”?  Is it the one with a sassy personality? A fine stature?  A beautiful face?  A cut above the rest of us?

The Power of Giving

Have you ever given to someone and felt something powerful in the act? There is power released when we give. I read an amazing story that illustrates perfectly the thoughts in my spirit about what even a small gift has the power to accomplish.

Grace to Finish Well

There is one thing I absolutely love, and that is a clean house. I came to that realization a few years back, after I had returned from a ministry trip to find my house in shambles. My children had entertained their friends with some sort of party in my absence. After I couldn’t get them to admit to the reason for the mess, I immediately got into my “cleaning mode.” After hours of cleaning and rearranging to my satisfaction, I sat on my reclining chair with a glass of water and a sense of a “Yeah! I got it done” feeling swept over my soul. This was the first time I had admitted to what my children had always jokingly accused me of, saying that while people will be worshiping in heaven, I will be cleaning.

It was hard to imagine Christmas displays so far from Christmas.

I Want to Forgive, But How?

An offense creates highly detrimental weather between us and our fellow humans or even God. Holding onto an offense is never profitable because it allows our souls to be poisoned by the slime of bitterness, resentments, anger, rage, and un-forgiveness that brings about a wounded spirit.

In 2014, the movie “God’s Not Dead” was released. The movie’s lead character was Josh Wheaton, an evangelical college student. He enrolled in a philosophy class taught by Professor Jeffrey Radisson, an atheist. Radisson demanded that students sign a declaration that “God is dead” in order to pass the course. Josh is the only student who refuses to sign.

Refuse to Be Offended

“Woe to the world because of offenses” (Matthew18:7). Looking back through history to the present day, our world feels chaotic, almost too dangerous for us. Peace and safety have become our most sought after commodities.

The Power of a Praying Woman

Prayer from a sincere heart through the name of Jesus has immense power, de- spite who does the praying: male, female, young, or old.  Yet there is something absolutely unique about the prayer of a woman. It is powerful, backed by heaven, and produces quality results each time.

If you have not been praying, begin by making a daily practice of it. It will change your life and the lives of others around you. Prayer is an act of obedience to God.

A few years ago I visited one of my spiritual daughters. As I sat talking with her in her bedroom, I happened to look up at her dresser mirror and noticed what seemed like a long list with bold writing.
