Hearing the Love

1 Corinthians, Chapter 13

Verse 1: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal…”

Verses 4, 5, and 6: “… Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth…”

The Lost Diamond; A Lesson in Thanksgiving

One day my wife Cindy called me from the bank where she worked. “The diamond has fallen out of my wedding ring,” she sobbed, “and I don’t know where it is.” The chances of finding the diamond were slim. She could have lost it somewhere in our house, or in the restaurant where she had lunch, or somewhere in the bank.  I prayed, “Lord, you know where Cindy lost her diamond. Please show me where it is.” Immediately I felt prompted to go to the bank parking lot. After driving into the lot, the first place I looked was inside our minivan, searching in the seat and on the floor. Nothing there.

Pastorís Perspective

Some time back I discovered the word entropy. Entropy is the second law of Thermodynamics. For those who may know much more about physics than I do, please stay with me before you dismiss my connection of entropy to our spiritual lives. Entropy is the movement of all things in the world toward chaos.

When I learned what this word meant, it immediately resonated with me that we are all engaged in entropy.
